Originally released as a 12" mini-album, What We Do Is Secret did much to propagate the myth of Darby Crash and the Germs on release in 1981 (especially in Europe). It's a companion volume to the (superior) (GI), featuring a version of Chuck Berry's "Round and Round" recorded in 1977, live tracks recorded through 1980 and a (GI) out-take. Everything the Germs did was messy, and this collection is no different. But that's half the appeal of the band, and fans will makes allowances for it.
Grnappletree has created a new GERMS x GRN collaboration t-shirt to commemorate this album. This is a limited edition T-shirt that is available on grnappletree's apples & oranges store. (http://www.grnappletree.com/apples&oranges.html)
